At about 10 million light years from us, NGC 2403 is an intermediate spiral galaxy in constellation Camelopardis ("the Giraffe"), belonging to the local group of M81 galaxy. It has several large active star forming regions, as it can be seen by the pinkish regions in the photo.
It can be seen the whole year in most of the northern hemisphere but it is best seen during Winter months, when is higher in the sky, and it was discovered by William Herschel in 1788.
Shot at Barcarena, Portugal (Bortle 8) on January.2023 and December.2023.
